The North Thompson Pearl dimension stone occurrence is located immediately north of the North Thomson Oxbows East Park.

The area is underlain by quartz mica schist, quartzite and phyllite of the Upper Proterozoic lower Kaza Group. A northwest trending thrust fault is interpreted to separate the Kaza Group from overturned strata of the Hadrynian Horsethief Creek Group to the northeast.

Locally, a fine-grained quartzite with lamullar parting planes through a fine pearl white mica occurs.

In 2001, the area was explored and assessed for the use as ornamental stone.
